Does the SAMi router act as a hotspot?

No, the SAMi Router is not a hot spot and can not provide you with internet service that is outside of your own home internet service. 

The SAMi Router creates a closed off WIFi network that is intended to be used by the SAMi Camera and your iOS device only.
