How to pair an additional Apple device to your SAMi Camera or Kit

What Apple Devices Are Compatible With the SAMi App?

You can reliably pair up to four Apple devices with a single SAMi camera. In some cases, you can do more than four Apple devices but we recommend only doing four at a time for maximum reliability. 

The SAMi-3 camera is compatible with any Apple device that runs iOS 12 or newer. Before pairing a new Apple device with your SAMi camera, you can check the iOS Version by going to Settings->General->About and looking for the iOS Version.

Where Can I Download the SAMi App?

The SAMi App is only available on the Apple App Store. Here is a link to the SAMi App in the Apple App Store: SAMi3 Sleep Activity Monitor

Note: We do not support Android at this time but hope to in the future.

Pairing Another Apple Device With Your SAMi Camera

Once you have verified that the Apple device you want to pair is compatible, you can follow these steps to add the new device to your SAMi camera.

1. Grab one of the Apple devices that is already paired with your current SAMi camera. You are going to need to find the camera password from the SAMi App if you don't remember it. If you know your camera password, you can skip to step 3.
2. Open the SAMi App on the already paired Apple device, and go to Settings->Camera Settings->Camera Password. This is the password you want to write down since you will need it to pair the other device. Optional: If you want to change your password now, click on "Edit" next to the password and change it to something you will remember. 
3. Download the SAMi App from the Apple App Store on your new Apple device.
4. Open the SAMi App on the unpaired device and follow the on-screen prompts to pair a new SAMi camera to the app
5. When prompted for a camera password, enter the password you wrote down from the already paired SAMi Device. 
6. Your new device is now paired!

IMPORTANT (Please read!): Please note that the SAMi App settings are unique to the Apple device you are using. If you plan to monitor one SAMi Camera from multiple different Apple iOS devices, the settings you set on one Apple iOS device will NOT carry over to the other device. This means you must adjust the settings on each device to match what you want. 

However, the "Camera Settings" that you set in the app WILL CARRY OVER to all Apple Devices. Camera settings are the settings you adjust by clicking on the gear icon in the bottom right of the SAMi App home screen and then by clicking on "Camera Settings" under your devices. Anything adjusted on the "Camera Settings" will be the same for all settings across all Apple devices paired to the same SAMi camera.
