Positioning the SAMi-3 Camera
When positioning your camera, the most important aspect of placement of your camera is ensuring it has an unobstructed view of the sleeping location of the individual you will be monitoring. Placing the SAMi Camera between 4-10 feet away from the person being monitored works best. If necessary, be sure to choose a location where the cord will be out of reach of young children.
If you're looking to monitor for facial movements, you will want to move the camera closer to the individual face that you will be monitoring. Mounting your new SAMi-3 to the ceiling can be an effective solution in this case.

Mounting the SAMi-3 Camera
Once you have chosen a location to mount your SAMi-3 camera, you have two different options for mounting the camera. You can either use the provided command strips for damage-free wall mounting or you can use the provided screws and wall anchors for a more permanent mounting solution.
IMPORTANT: If you are mounting the camera on the ceiling over a bed or in a location where it could potentially fall and hurt someone, do not use the command strip mounting solution. Use the provided screws and wall anchors to properly secure the camera from falling!
Note: You will be able to adjust the monitoring border from the app as well. To learn more about adjusting the monitoring border, please review our Overview of SAMi App Settings & Features

Attaching the SAMi-3 camera to the bracket
Once you have the bracket in position, you will now mount the camera to the bracket.
1. On the back of the bracket, there is a metal plate. Use a coin to loosen the ball joint. |
|
2. Next, take the SAMi-3 Camera and affix the back of the camera to the ball joint on the bracket by placing the ball into the available joint on the back of the camera. Hold the camera with the ball in the joint and use the knob at the end of the ball joint to line it up and twist it on. Note: if it does not turn easily, loosen the ball joint some more. |
|
3. Aim the camera at the desired monitoring location and tighten the ball joint using a coin. |
